One Moment in Time, american medium, New York, NY, 2018
“One Moment in Time” is the exhibition title which culminated in a live performance titled “Love’s in Need of Love Today”. “Love’s in Need of Love Today” was an homage to Stevie Wonder, GG Allin and Freddie Mercury. Over a year was spent on creating a functioning wall of intricate plant puppets titled “Shitgardens Wall of Scary Plants” that served as a backing choir for an intensive mini musical and funeral scene. Over thirty friends and community members helped to create a raucous live play involving a biker gang, metallic ghosts, and an epic eulogy to our fallen pop culture heroes. With references made to seminal figures like GG Allin, Whitney Houston, Freddie Mercury, and Stevie Wonder, I pay homage to these transformative stars, acknowledging the deep influence they have had on me as an artist and performer.
